Daniel G. "Dan" Powers , of Waterford, passed away surrounded by
family Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2007, at the Brigham and Women's
Hospital in Boston following a lengthy illness. The son of Russell F.
and Patricia E. (Wallace) Powers, he was born Sept. 1, 1953, in
Attleboro, Mass. He married Jane M. Wright on June 22, 1974, in St.
Johnsbury. Dan was a logger, owning and operating D & G Logging
with his son, Glen. He was also a great mechanic; he could fix
anything. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, walking, carpentry, blue grass
music, playing his mandolin, working on the house and family
history. Dan is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Jane Powers of
Waterford; five children and their spouses, Tricha Anne and Chad
Pennypacker of Barnet, Katie Ellen and James Fischer of Trenton,
Fla., Nancy Powers of Lyndonville, Glenn and Nancy Powers of Joe's
Pond, and Angela Powers of Waterford; his parents, Russell and
Patricia Powers of Waterford; parents-in-law, Wayne and Elizabeth
Wright of Lyndonville; brothers and sisters, Ronald L. and Sherrill
Powers, Judy and Steve Daniels all of Waterford, Sandra Jean and
Kenneth Grant of Lyndonville, Sharon and Nicholas Bohlen of Chicago,
and Kevin R. and Debra Powers of Waterford; and nine grandchildren.
A sister, Lois Powers, predeceased him. Visiting hours will be at the
Pearsons Funeral Home, Friday, Jan. 5, from 6-8 p.m. A funeral
service will be held Saturday, Jan. 6, at 2 p.m. at the Lyndon Bible
Church. Memorial contributions may be made in Dan's name to the
American Heart Association.
