DANFORTH: Willis K. "Bill," of North Concord, died peacefully
surrounded by his family at Weeks Medical Center in Lancaster, Saturday
morning, June 21, 2003, on his 60th birthday. He was born in St. Johnsbury
June 21, 1943, the son of Irving and Mary Etta (Meigs) Danforth. He
married Lorraine Hale of Sheffield. Music was always important in the
Danforth family. He was "The Shuffler" and lead singer in the Barnyard
Shufflers country western band. He also played with Terry and the Country
Americans for years, and the Danforth Brothers. He loved hunting and
fishing, spending time with family and especially his grandchildren. He
drove truck for Wausau Carriers. He is survived by his wife, Lorraine of
North Concord; son Brian Danforth and wife Karen and children Megan and
Miranda; daughter Alicia Burnham and husband Sunday and children
Christopher and Jessica; son Tracy Danforth and wife Darlene and children
Melissa and Sarah of Lancaster; a brother, Frank Danforth of North
Concord; a sister, Phyllis Wiley of Florida; and nieces, nephews and close
friends. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, June 25 at 10 a.m. at
Grove Cemetery in East St. Johnsbury. The Rev. Melvin A. Richardson will
officiate. There will be no visiting hours. Memorial contributions, marked in
his name for the Oncology Clinic, may be sent to Weeks Medical Center, 173 Middle St., Lancaster, NH 03584.
