Heaven has gained another angel. Wanda (Jenness) Hawkins, age 73, of
St. Johnsbury, VT, passed away on January 2, 2017.
Wanda was born in Hardwick, VT on August 26, 1943, the daughter of
Harold "Pete" and Marion Bertha (Chase) Jenness. She was raised and
educated in St. Johnsbury, graduating from St. Johnsbury Academy in 1962.
With another 2 years of business college, Wanda spent her career
working in various offices to include Fairbank Scales for 26 years
and Riverside Life Enrichment Center for 10 years.
Wanda was a past member of Grace United Methodist Church, BPW
and many other community clubs and organizations. She loved being with
people. After retiring, Wanda enjoyed over 10 years of volunteering at
Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital's front desk.
She is survived by 2 daughters: Paula Pezdirtz (Stephen) of New Castle,
DE and Marla Waring (Erik) of Kirby, VT; her brother: Gary Jenness
(Marge) of Lancaster, NH; 4 grandchildren: Krystal Brown, Ryan
Brown, Taylor (Elizabeth) Waring and Nigel Waring; a great-grandchild:
Ari and his expected sibling; a close cousin: Connie Libbey (Dave) of
Lyndonville, VT; 2 close friends: Bonnie Benoit of St. Johnsbury, VT, and
Donald Haslam of Lyndonville, VT;
She was predeceased by her Father, Mother and Nephew Jason Jenness.
Family and friends may call on the family from 1-3PM on Saturday,
January 7, 2017 at the Sayles Funeral Home, 525 Summer Street in St.
Johnsbury, VT. A service will follow at 3PM.
