JOHNSTON: Stephen A. , 61, a resident of the St. Albans area for the
past 20 years, passed away at his home early Friday morning,
December 20, 2002, as a result of a house fire. He was born in St.
Johnsbury March 5, 1941, the son of the late John Paul and Genevieve
(Woods) Johnston. Stephen was a security guard for Wyeth
Nutritional, Inc., and drove taxi for Yellow Cab in Burlington. He also
provided transportation for the Tyler Place in Highgate Springs and
had been a machinist for Iroquois Truck Body Company in Williston.
He was a graduate of St. Johnsbury Trade School. In his leisure he
enjoyed traveling to St. Johnsbury and playing cards with his friends.
Survivors include three brothers, Richard Johnston and wife Doris of
Windham, N.H., Robert Johnston and wife Inez of Waterford, and
Nathan Johnston of Georgia, Vt.; and a sister, Paula Lewis of South
Burlington. He also leaves close friends, Pete Gagner and Dick and
Anita Bedor and nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral service will
be held on Thursday, Dec. 26 at 11 a.m. in the Heald Funeral Chapel.
There will be no visitation. Gifts in Stephen's memory may be sent to
