Robert "Bob" Graffam, age 66 of Mona Rd., Portland, Maine, died Monday evening Aug. 20, 2012 at Maine Medical Center after a long illness. He was born in Portland son of Marshal and Althea Corey Graffam. He moved to Vermont at an early age to attend schools in St. Johnsbury graduating from St. Johnsbury Academy in 1964. Bob joined the US Air Force serving from 1967 to 1971 having served a tour in Vietnam during the TET Offensive. After his service, Bob was employed by the Maine State Agency Liquor Store as Manager for over 20 years, and then he worked for Home Depot for 12 years. He was a member of the Deering Memorial Post of VFW 6859, and the Harold Loring American Legion Post. Bob was an avid sports fan especially for the N.Y. Yankees, Boston Celtics and the N.Y. Giants, and all other sports. He also had many collectable items such as DVD's, CD's, and Military items. He also enjoyed gardening and taking care of his lawn. Besides the love of his life of 22 years Donna Bailey, Portland, he leaves 2 Grandchildren, Kaila Matassa, Michael Matassa and Step-Daughter, Cheryl McKeough all of Portland, a Sister, Terry and her husband Norman Gosselin of Waterford, Vt., niece Michelle Gosselin of Norway, Maine, nephew Keith Gosselin of So. Carolina, Mother-in-Law, Margaret Bailey, 2 Brother-in-laws, Stephen and his wife Susan Bailey, Michael Bailey and Carol Thomshick, Sister-in-Laws, Lana and her husband Sonny Collelo, Mary Ann Russo, Beverly Bailey, Long time friend Judy Burton, and several nieces, nephews & cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24, 2012 at Jones, Rich & Hutchins Funeral Home 199 Woodford St. Prayer service will be held at the funeral home Saturday Aug. 25, 2012 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow with military honors at New Calvary Cemetery, So. Portland. Bob's entire family wishes to extend their heartfelt appreciation for the loving care that was given to him from the entire nursing staff 3rd Floor Richards Wing at Maine Medical Center.
