Richard S. Amidon passed away at his son and daughter-in-law's home in
Waterford, Vt., Sunday morning, Sept. 16, 2007, at the age of 62. He was
born Jan. 9, 1945, in St. Johnsbury, Vt. He was predeceased by his
parents, Frank W. and Caroline (Scott) Amidon. Richard had been living in
Wilmington, N.C., for the past several years. He was employed at Bry-Cam
Truck Fleet Service as a truck mechanic. He was a big NASCAR fan and
would definitely be found on the weekends at the local racetracks. For the
past four months while he was sick, he lived at Justin and Krystal's home in
Waterford. He is survived by his children and their families, Tricia Augeri,
husband Dan and her children Seth, Timothy, Kyle, Andrew and coming
soon, Keriann of Danville, Vt.; Jason Amidon and Stephanie Gochie and
Brandon of Concord, Vt.; Justin Amidon and wife Krystal; Jennifer Amidon
and Shane Altieri of Waterford; and Nick Clich? of Portland, Maine; his
brother Dennison Amidon of St. Johnsbury; sister Nancy Burgess and
husband Steve of Lyndonville, Vt.; and several nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to his close friends who supported him during his illness,
Robert and Bonnie Ailes and family, Bernard Boulay and family, Linda Vail,
Brennon and Stephanie Melen and family, Jennifer Buck and family and
Brian Bryant. Family and friends will gather at the Sayles Funeral Home
this Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. to share stories and memories. His
cremated remains will be buried in his parents' lot at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
