Peter T. Liberty , 65, of Lyndon Center, passed away Sunday, Nov. 7, 2010,
at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital in St. Johnsbury.
He was born Aug. 30, 1945, in St. Johnsbury, the son of Cedric and
Beatrice (Williams) Liberty Sr. Peter graduated from the St.
Johnsbury Trade School in 1963. In 1966 he entered the U.S. Air
Force where he served his country until 1972. He worked as a
machinist for Vermont Tap & Die Co. in Lyndonville for nearly 40
years, retiring in 2007. He was a member of the Tom Breslin Center
of Lyndonville and the American Legion Post 7 of Hardwick. Hunting,
playing cribbage, photography, spending time with his family at his
camp in Wheelock, and traveling the back roads of the Northeast
Kingdom brought him much pleasure. Survivors include his son,
Jeffrey Liberty of Wheelock (P.O. Box 76, Lyndon, VT 05849); two
brothers, C. James Liberty Jr. and wife Shirley of Lyndonville, and John
Liberty of South Wheelock; a brother-in-law, Robert Kidnocker of
Chillicothe, Ohio; the mother of his son, Karleen Kelly of St.
Johnsbury; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was
predeceased by his parents; and his sister, Nancy Kidnocker. Funeral
services will be held at Guibord Funeral Home Thursday, Nov. 11, at 10 a.m.
with the Rev. Fr. Dwight Baker officiating. Burial will follow in
St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Lyndonville. Friends may meet with the
family Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Due to
the fine care his mother received prior to her death in 2004,
