Patrick H. Brown , 56, of St. Johnsbury, died Saturday afternoon, March 15, 2008, at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital. He was born June 26, 1951, in St. Johnsbury, a son of Patrick and Virginia (Chamberlain) Brown. Pat graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy in 1969 and later attended Lyndon State Collage. On July 30, 1971, Pat married Linda Comeau. From 1972-1975 Pat worked for Hy-Ten Die and Development Corp. in Milford, N.H., as an apprentice injector mold maker. From 1975-1989 he worked for Mardon Industries in Lyndon as a machinist and tool maker before becoming a production supervisor and a tool/fixture designer, later becoming manufacturing engineer and sales manager. From 1989-1998 Pat worked for Burndy Corp. in Littleton as the manufacturing and operations manager. From 1998 to the present, he was an operations engineer at Vermont Aerospace in St. Johnsbury. In his off time Pat enjoyed scuba diving and was on the St. Johnsbury Fire Dept. Dive Team for many years. Other favorite pastimes include going for rides with Linda on their Harley-Davidson motorcycle, playing hockey, poker, cribbage, deer and bird hunting, camping, and barbecuing with family and friends. A loving and devoted husband, father, father in-law and grandfather, some of Pat's most precious moments were playing with and teaching his sons to be good sportsman, and the quality time he had with his granddaughter, Emily. Survivors include his wife Linda Brown of St. Johnsbury; his mother Virginia Hyatt and her husband William of Littleton, N.H.; two sons: Jonathan Brown and wife Renee and their daughter Emily of Thetford, Peter Brown and companion Erin Owen of Brooklyn, N.Y.; three brothers: Michael Brown and wife Debra of St. Petersburg, Fla., Richard Brown and wife Fae of St. Johnsbury, Christopher Brown and wife Cheri of Williston; two sisters: Ellie Toombs and husband Robert of New Bern, N.C., Brenda Paulin and husband Frank of St. Johnsbury; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, many nieces and nephews, and his best friend Guy "Frenchy" Demers and his wife Rachel of St. Johnsbury. He was predeceased by his father Patrick Brown. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Johnsbury Wednesday, March 19, at 2 p.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church. The Rev. Patrick Forman will be the celebrant. Burial will be in May at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home Tuesday evening 5-8 p.m. Contributions made in his memory may be directed to the Norris Cotton Cancer Center, 1 Medical Center Dr., Lebanon NH 03756.
