Patricia "Patty" (McDonald) Wasatonic, 69, wonderful wife, mother,
grandmother, and friend to all who met her, passed away suddenly on January 6, 2016.
Patty was born in Concord, Vermont. She was a
graduate of St. Johnsbury Academy in St. Johnsbury,
VT and graduated from the University of Vermont
with an Associate Degree in dental hygiene. She
worked for many years as a dental hygienist in
Vermont and Massachusetts. After relocating to
Greenville in 1993, she worked as an administrative
assistant at Robinson Real Estate until her retirement
in 2012. She was a faithful member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic church.
She was predeceased by her parents, Pat and Gabe McDonald of St. Johnsbury,
VT and by her brother Bill of Salisbury, NC. She is survived by her husband of
41 years, Jack, her daughter Amy Allen and her husband Keith and their son
Connor, of Matthews, NC and by her son Matthew and his wife Laura and their
daughter Madison of Simpsonville. Patty loved her children and grandchildren
immensely and she showered them with love.
Patty was a light to all who knew her. She was helpful, funny, compassionate,
generous, full of life. She brought joy. She never hesitated to help when asked,
in any way she could. If you were lucky enough to be her friend, you were her
friend for life. Her loss creates a huge void for her family and friends. She will
be missed, but the joy she brought will not be forgotten and the wonderful
memories of her will endure.
Visitation will be Sunday, January 10, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Mackey
Mortuary, 311 Century Drive, Greenville. Funeral services will be held at 10
a.m. on Monday, January 11 at St. Anthony of Padua church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to St. Anthony
of Padua church or the Greenville Humane Society.
