Nancy Jean (Knights) Tilden, 72, of St. Johnsbury, died Feb. 16, 2016, in Greensboro, North Carolina.
She was born June 29, 1943, in St. Johnsbury, the daughter of Frederick and Madalyn (Capron) Knights. She went to school in Barnet, then attended St. Johnsbury Academy before getting married.
Mrs. Tilden was a member of the Thetford Elementary School PTA and was active in the Upper Valley Snow Packers snowmobiling club.
She worked at Dartmouth College and L.H. Cook Inc. before assisting her former husband with his electrical and refrigeration business in the early 1980s.
Mrs. Tilden was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling.
She is survived by three daughters, Lori Leeke of Richardson, Texas, Sarah Gramling of Springfield, and Martha Bird of Oak Ridge, North Carolina; 15 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents.
Mrs. Tilden will be buried next to her parents and infant brother at Pleasant View Cemetery in Barnet.
A remembrance service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 4, 2016, at the family homestead at 262 Knights Lane in Barnet.
