Maurice Eugene LaChance , 64, of Nashua, N.H., died at the
Community Hospice House in Merrimack on Tuesday evening, Nov. 20, 2007.
He was born in St. Johnsbury, Vt., on May 25, 1943, a son of
the late Raymond John and Lucienne Gloria (Landry) LaChance. He
was a longtime resident of New Hampshire. He was the husband of
Joan Sylvia (Vigneault) LaChance, whom he married November 23,
1967. Mr. LaChance was an assembler at Sanders Associates at one
time. He was a third-degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He
also held membership in the American Legion and a local dart club.
He enjoyed mountain biking, restoring antique cars, cooking and
NASCAR races. Mr. LaChance was a United States Army veteran,
serving until July of 1968. He was a member of St. Patrick Church in
Nashua. Mr. LaChance was educated in Vermont and was a 1961
graduate of St. Johnsbury Academy. He was pre-deceased by his
brother, Herbert LaChance, and a brother-in-law, George Bouffard. In
addition to his wife of 40 years, survivors include a daughter, Nancy
LaChance Moreau and her husband, Ken Moreau of Hollis, N.H.; a
grandson, Cody Kenneth Moreau of Hollis; his brothers and sisters
and their spouses: Gloria Bouffard of Hudson, N.H.; Dr. Paul and
Therese LaChance of Princeton, N.J.; and Raymond and Laurette
LaChance of Colchester, Vt.; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law:
Elaine Leddy of Exeter, N.H.; Dee Dee and Earl Bellis of Nashua; and
Victor Vigneault of Sun City, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be on Sunday afternoon from 4 to 6 p.m. at the
Davis Funeral Home, One Lock St., Nashua. A Mass of Christian Burial
will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick Church, 29 Spring Street,
Nashua. Friends are invited to attend. Interment prayers will follow
in St. Louis Cemetery, Nashua. In lieu of flowers, those planning an
expression of sympathy are asked to consider a memorial donation
to the Community Hospice House, 210 Naticook Road, Merrimack, NH 03054.
