Lawrence A. "Sonny" Noyes, 70, of Lyndonville, died Saturday evening,
June 1, 2013, at the VA Hospital in White River Jct., Vt.
He was born Dec. 4, 1942, in Sutton, the son of Herman and Vera
(Bundy) Noyes. He graduated from St. Johnsbury Trade School in 1961.
On Jan. 20, 1962, he married Lois Dwyer.
Larry served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He
worked as an electrician here in the Northeast and also while he was
out west during the 1980s and into the 1990s totaling 50 years as an
electrician. He was active in the Electrical Union IBEW and was a
member of the American Legion Post 30 of Lyndonville. Hunting,
fishing and spending time with family and friends was very important to Larry.
Survivors include his wife Lois Noyes of Lyndonville; two children,
James Noyes and wife Colleen of Colorado, and Theresa Noyes and her
fiance Shawn McCandless of Lyndonville; two grandchildren, Felicia and
Ashley Noyes; three brothers, Ronald Noyes and wife Elaine of
Lyndonville, Carlton Morey and wife Jo of South Carolina and Robert
Morey and wife Esther of St. Johnsbury Center; two sisters, Joan
Colucchi and husband Ralph of Burke and Gertrude Goodsell and
husband Harry of Wells River; four sisters in-law, Mary Noyes of St.
Johnsbury, Olive Morey of St. Johnsbury, Alice Caswell of Florida and
Wilma Caswell of Lyndonville; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Cindy Noyes in 2001; his parents;
five brothers, Herman Noyes Jr., Robert Noyes, Earl Morey, Jack Caswell
and James Caswell; three sisters, Helen Dwyer, Arabelle Sheehan and Priscilla Fifield.
Graveside funeral services will be held Monday, June 10, at 11 a.m. at
the William-Dexter Cemetery in Sheffield with the Rev. Barbara Dwyer officiating.
