Jim Edward Cox, of Dundee St. in St. Johnsbury, died Sunday, March 7, 2010.
He was born in Bangor, Maine, on May 31, 1942, one of four children
born to Edward and Henrietta (Twombly) Cox. His father passed
away in 2004, his mother in 2008. A sister-in-law, Nancy Cox, passed away late last year.
After graduating from St. Johnsbury Academy in 1960, he married
Carleen Rahkonen of Rockland, Maine. He later served a four-year
stint in the Air Force during the Vietnam conflict. Jim was a master
electrician and worked for Murphy Electric for 20 years. He
thoroughly enjoyed his time puttering and tinkering in his basement.
He is survived by his wife Carlene; son Jeffrey Cox and wife Edie of
Wartrace, Tenn.; daughter Jennifer Cox of St. Johnsbury; two
grandchildren, Courtney and Cody; one brother, Hank Cox of
Thurman, Iowa; two sisters, Brenda McLaughlin and husband Robert
of Fairbanks, Alaska, Cindy Hatch of Waterford; Carleen's sister and
husband Shirleen and Stephen Smith of Rockland, Maine; aunts and uncles; nieces and nephews.
The family will observe their services privately.
