Homer Treff Penniman, 69, of Waldron, Ark. died on Jan. 28, 2013.
He was born in St. Johnsbury, Vt., Feb. 11, 1943, the son of Edward H.
and Marion (Hall) Penniman. Homer graduated from St. Johnsbury
Academy, class of 1962. After graduation he worked for Ralston
Purina and he was a farrier for many years in Vermont and
Arkansas. He was also owner/operator of "Treff Haven Arabians"
horse farm. Homer and Tina spent 26 years operating the horse farm together.
He is survived by his wife, Tina, of Waldron, Ark., three sons, Ty and
his wife Lee of St. Johnsbury, Treff of Burlington, Vt., and Teric of Fort
Smith, Ark., and a daughter Tineka Holk and husband Boyd of
Londonderry, N.H., and three grandchildren, Terin Penniman and
Tanner and Layna Holk. Homer is also survived by his sister, Laura
Barrett and husband Larry of Waterford, Vt., and his brother Bruce of
Fryeburg, Maine. He also leaves several nieces and nephews and a
large group of very dear friends and neighbors in Arkansas along
with the many associates of the Arabian Horse Association. In the
spring, there will be a memorial service in Vermont.
