Gary M. Remick , 60, of 83 Maple Street, died Saturday, April 12, 2008, at
the Baystate Franklin Medical Center. He was born in St. Johnsbury, on
April 24, 1947, the son of Glen W. and Shirley K. (McAneaney) Remick. He
attended St. Johnsbury Academy and graduated from Greenfield High
School in 1965. Also, he attended Greenfield Community College. Gary
was a machinist for Kennametal (GTD) since 1977. He served with the U.S.
Army in Vietnam and attained the rank of specialist 5th class. Gary was a
life member of the Sherburne Falls VFW. He loved motorcycle riding and
enjoyed pool, darts, playing cards and golfing. Besides his father of
Greenfield, he leaves his wife of 37 years, the former Dale S. Kabaniec;
four sons, Lincoln S. and his wife Jennifer of Ocala, Fla., Luke K. of
Greenfield, Levi J. and his fiancée Lucinda of Cambridge, and Logan T.
and his wife Amy of Millers Falls; two brothers, Glenn Remick and his wife
Gloria of Foristell, Mo., and Erik Remick and his wife Lisa of Hau'ula,
Hawaii; a sister, Glennise Remick and her partner Donna Northrup of
Greenfield; two grandchildren, Teagan and Emma Remick; and many
nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Gayle Remick, in
1994. A memorial service will be held Friday at 11:30 a.m. at the Kostanski
Funeral Home, 220 Federal Street, Greenfield, Mass. Burial will be at the
convenience of the family. Calling hours will be Friday, from 10 a.m. until
the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial
contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
