RODGER: Dana M. , 53, of Concord, died suddenly in St. Johnsbury,
Thursday, Aug. 14, 2003, after a long and courageous battle with
cancer. He was born in Lyndon, June 16, 1950, the son of the late
Robert Burns Rodger and W. Rose (Montgomery) Rodger, who
survives him in Lyndonville. A 1968 graduate of St. Johnsbury Trade
School, Dana was a carpentry specialist in the U.S. Air Force and later
worked for Northern Auto and Whitney Motors as a parts manager.
Mr. Rodger was a member of the First Congregational Church of St.
Johnsbury Center, where he was deacon emeritus. During the winter
months in Arizona, he organized a gospel fellowship for members of
his RV park. He volunteered at St. Johnsbury Academy in the
vocational department and did presentations at the medical school at
Dartmouth College on faith healing. Other interests included playing
pool, camping, canoeing, working on his computer and taking in the
races at Thunder Road in Barre. On Aug. 9, 1969, he married Elogene
H. Berry, who survives him in Concord. Other survivors include three
children, Aaron and wife Rebecca Rodger of Newark, Alycia and
husband Nicholas Vosinek of Monroe, N.H., and Nancy and husband
Travis Wright of West Burke; three sisters, Ruth and husband Dan
Stocker of Clarendon, Vt., Jacqueline Frey of Littleton, N.H., and Gail
and husband Sam Roberts of St. Johnsbury; five grandchildren, Ryley
and Faythe Rodger, Tyler Vosinek, Elizabeth and Zackery Wright; and
nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to meet the family, Sunday,
Aug. 17 from 6-8 p.m. at the Sayles Funeral Home. A funeral service
will be held at the First Congregational Church of St. Johnsbury
Center, Monday, Aug. 18 at 1 p.m., with pastors William Cotte and
Glenn Hatch officiating. Burial will be in the St. Johnsbury Center
