Clarence F. "Buster" Powers , 63, of West Danville, died Friday
evening Feb. 23, 2007, at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in
Lebanon, N.H., following complications recovering from an auto
accident in November 2006. He was born May 19, 1943, in St.
Johnsbury, son of the late Clarence F. and Elizabeth (Lefevre) Powers
Sr. Following the death of his father, Buster, or Buzzy as he was also
known, was raised by his mother and step-father, Howard Jacques. A 1961 graduate
of St. Johnsbury Trade School, Buster then entered the
U.S. Army serving in Germany. On May 2, 1970, he married Theresa
A. "Terry" Madsen. He worked for more than 30 years as an auto
parts salesman, beginning with Caledonia Auto Parts in St. Johnsbury
and later for Sullivan's Auto Parts in Lyndonville where he was still
employed. Over the years, Buster was one of the best bowlers to bowl
at Gold Crown Lanes in St. Johnsbury. He was the secretary of the
Thursday night men's bowling league as well. In his free time he loved
fishing on Joe's Pond. He played fantasy sports and was a New York
Yankees fan. He was always willing to help friends, neighbors and
anyone he met in need. Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Terry
Powers of West Danville; two sons, Michael Powers and his wife
Carrie of St. Johnsbury, and Eric Powers and his fiancée Amanda
Shields of Concord; three grandchildren, Emma, Hannah and Gehrig
Powers; and his many, many close friends. Friends may call on the
family Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Guibord Funeral Home. A
memorial service will be held Friday, March 2, at 11 a.m. at the
funeral Home with Jane Larrabee officiating. Memorial donations
