Charlene E. Parker , 63, of St. Johnsbury, passed away unexpectedly
Monday, May 14, 2007, at her Marion Street home. She was born in St.
Johnsbury July 24, 1943, the daughter of Roland and Priscilla (Cleary)
Irwin. Charlene was an accountant. She was office manager for all seven of
the Shop 'n Save stores and had also been a tax preparer at H & R Block.
She had lived in Phoenix for years and was employed at General Electric,
Blue Cross Blue Shield, and at other data processing jobs. She and Maggie
Tootill had been fast friends and roommates for 28 years. Maggie passed
away in 2005. She is survived by two daughters, Sharon Delio of St.
Johnsbury, and Nancy Ledoux and John Layton of Burlington; Maggie's
daughter, Allyson Tootill and Mike Puzz of Struthers, Ohio, whom Charlene
considered as a daughter; six grandchildren, Rachel, Phillip and Erin,
Charlene, Michael, and Timothy; two great-grandsons, Kaleb and Kennith;
stepfather Clarence Olcott of East Haven; stepmother Margaret Irwin of St.
Johnsbury; four sisters and one brother, Claire Chesebrough of East St.
Johnsbury, Louise Townsend of East Haven, Norma Townsend and
husband Charlie of Smithfield, W.Va., Gloria Olcott and Bertrand Boyer of
Florida, and Roland Irwin and wife Robin of Groton; and nieces and
nephews. Friends and family will gather at the Sayles Funeral Home
Saturday afternoon from 2 to 4 p.m. Visiting hours will concluded with a
simple prayer service. She will be cremated later next week. Memorial
