Andrew J. Robinson passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010, at
NVRH at the age of 61. He was born on July 26, 1948, in Concord, Vt.,
the second child of Clayton and Carol (Nutting) Robinson. He
graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy in 1966. In 1997 he married
Deanne Tripp while they were on vacation in Las Vegas, then they
honeymooned in Hawaii. Andy started work at a young age on the
family farm, working also in the sawmill and dance hall. While in high
school he worked for St. Johnsbury Trucking at the Portland Street
office; while living in Connecticut he worked at the Connecticut Silk
Screen factory; later, he worked for Cabot Headwater Lumber Co.
After his retirement from H.G. Woods in Bath, N.H., he started his own
logging and sawing business. He was a logger at heart and was at
home in the woods. Andy loved to read and play golf, was a New York
Giants fan and an old-car enthusiast, but most of all he was proud of
his children and grandchildren, with whom he just enjoyed spending
time at home. Andy is survived by his wife, Deanne; his six children,
Julie Robinson of Berwick, Pa., Andrew "AJ" Robinson and wife Misty
of Bossier City, La., Jason Robinson and wife Theresa of West
Danville, Todd Robinson and fiancée Rachel Green of North Danville,
Darcie Nash and husband Louis of Passumpsic, Seth Robinson and
wife Tiffany of Melbourne, Fla.; a stepson, Stephen Tripp and
companion Trish Geoffory of Westmore; 16 grandchildren; his
mother, Carol Robinson of Passumpsic; 11 brothers and sisters,
Gloria Bullock and husband David of Marshville, N.C., Clayton
Robinson and wife Theresa of Wilson, N.C., Brenda Ball and husband
Richard of Passumpsic, Marcia Martel and husband Roger of
Waterford, Thomas Robinson of Chester, Va., Earl Robinson and wife
Mary of Peacham, Cynthia Robinson and husband Robert of
Lyndonville, Dorothy Robinson and spouse Sandy Turman of
Passumpsic, Stanley Robinson and wife Kathleen of Passumpsic,
Russell Robinson and wife Lisa of Passumpsic, and Carol Robinson of
Passumpsic; his mother-in-law Beverly Tripp of Lyndonville;
sister-in-law Lois Tripp of Lyndonville; and brother-in-law Stephen
Tripp of San Diego, Calif.; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles,
cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his father Clayton
Robinson on Jan. 27, 2008, two sisters, Mary Robinson in 1975,
Diane Graziose on Nov. 17, 2009, and brother-in-law Philip Graziose
in 2003. Funeral services will be held at Union Baptist Church
located on Route 5, south of St. Johnsbury, on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010,
at 2 p.m. Pastor Paul Powers will officiate. Visiting hours will be held
at Sayles Funeral Home tonight (Friday, Jan. 15) from 6 to 8 p.m.
Burial will be at Danville Green Cemetery in the spring.
