NARRAGANSETT, R.I. - Roger F. Pinard, 71, cherished husband of
Pauline Bacon Pinard, died peacefully on Sept. 24, 2011, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on May 27, 1940, in Franklin, N.H. , and lived in Connecticut
and Rhode Island most of his life. He graduated from St. Johnsbury
Academy, St. Johnsbury , Vt. , and worked at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft,
Purdy Corporation, and retired from Dabko Industries in 2005.
Roger had a zest for life and loved spending time with friends and family.
He enjoyed deep sea fishing, hunting, and took great pride in his home and gardens.
Besides his adored wife, he is survived by his beloved children, Kelly Hany
and her husband Peter of Ellington, Conn., Michael Pinard and his wife
Deana of Vernon, Conn., and Richard Newcombe and his wife Jenna of
Acton , Mass. He also leaves his treasured grandchildren, Katherine,
Christopher, Ethan, and Lindsey Hany; Julia and Lillian Pinard; Samuel,
Lily and Zoe Newcombe. Also surviving are his sisters, Rhonda Murray and
Rita Pinard, both of Vermont. He was predeceased by his mother, Elsie
(Ford) Pinard and brother, Royce "Pete" Pinard.
SERVICES: Calling hours are from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, at
the Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect St., Willimantic , Conn., followed by
a procession to St. Mary Church, Valley Street, Willimantic, for the
celebration of his funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Burial will be private.
