Roger L. Hevey, 72, of Ocala, FL, passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2011 in Ocala, FL. Born on February 6, 1939 in St. Johnsbury, VT, son to the late Arthur J. and Dora M. (Laperle) Hevey , Roger moved here from Nashua, NH in 2001. His career was in carpentry, having been employed at Indian Head Millwork Corp., Nashua, NH and Brockway- Smith Corp, Andover, MA. He was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Ocala and had been a former member of the Knights of Columbus . Roger was a member of the Oak Run Cribbage Club, The Prestige "55" Club and the New England Club of Oak Run. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, shuffleboard, playing cards, bowling, car races, traveling, listening to music and being on the computer. His greatest enjoyment in life was his wife, children, grandchildren and great granddaughter. Roger was also preceded in death by his granddaughter Jessica C. Sowers. Roger is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Claire; daughters Louise Hevey of Ocala and Joanne K. Pricer of Nashua, NH: granddaughter Jennifer L. Sowers of Merrimack, NH: great granddaughter Nevaeh J. Claudio of Ocala: siblings, Pauline Giguere of Waterford, VT, Helen Basal of E. Windsor, CT, Paul Hevery (Sherry) of Lyndonville, VT, Maurice Hevey (Jan) of Burlington, VT, Lorraine Perkins (Ralph) of St. Johnsbury, VT and Linda Dauphin (Stan) of Danville, VT and also several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, October 31, 2011 at 8:30AM at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Ocala followed by inurnment at Highland Memorial Gardens, Ocala. Cremation arrangements are under the care of Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, Ocala.
