Roger E. Evans HAMILTON - Roger E. Evans, 76, of Hamilton passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2013,
at home, with his loving family by his side. Born in Grove City, PA, Roger was
formerly of St. Johnsbury and Sutton, VT, and formerly of Trenton, where he spent most of his
life. He had been a resident of Hamilton for the past eight years. He was a machine operator for
Union Camp Corporation (now National Products Co.) in Trenton, where he retired in 2001 after
more than 30 years of service. Roger was a veteran of the United States Army stationed at
Fairbanks, AK, while serving during the Korean War. He was a member of St. Raphael's Holy
Angels Parish, the Bordentown Elks Lodge 2085, the German American Society, and a former
member of the Saturday Evening Dance Club. He served on the Evergreen Pool Committee and
most recently the Bingo Committee. Roger was an Eagle Scout, and he enjoyed bowling and
reading, and was a history buff. Son of the late Ernest and Blanche Horn Evans, he is survived
by his loving wife of 44 years, Marie Evans (nee Schifano) of Hamilton; one daughter and
son-in-law, Janet Lynne and Marc Surrency of Alexandria, VA; one sister, Anne Evans of St.
Johnsbury, VT; one brother and sister-in-law, William C. and Elaine Evans of St. Johnsbury, VT;
two brothers-in-law, Joseph Jones and wife Josephine of Hamilton, and Salvatore Schifano of
Trenton, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be Friday evening at 7 p.m. at the M. William Murphy Funeral Home, 1863
Hamilton Ave., Hamilton. Visit www.murphyfh.com. Officiating the service will be Sr. Sandra
Kulick, from St. Raphael's - Holy Angels Church. Calling hours will be Friday evening from 5 - 7
p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Roger's memory to the
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142 Memphis, TN 38148 or to the
