Robert Sears Corliss of Granby passed away Saturday, June 25, 2011.
Known as "Moose," he was born in St. Johnsbury, Vt., on Jan. 9, 1932, to
Edward Sears and Berdena (Honsinger) Corliss. He was an only child.
Robert grew up in St. Johnsbury and attended schools there including the
St. Johnsbury Trade School. In 1950 he enlisted in the Army and served
oversees in Germany during the Korean conflict. He and his first wife
Audrey had twin sons, Gary Robert and Gregory Sears Corliss on May 26,
1959. On July 4, 1998, he married a second time to Sandra Mae Quirion.
For many years Bob enjoyed the summer gatherings in Victory. One of his
greatest joys in life was riding his Harley with his many friends. He also
loved to hunt and often reminiscenced about his VFW and Mason times.
He was predeceased by his parents, his longtime companion Ruby Ann
Thompson, his second wife Sandra just this past year, and their faithful dog named Harley.
He is survived by his two sons: Gary Corliss and wife Sharlene of Miles
Pond, Greg Corliss of Bishop, Calif.; Sandy's two sons Edward and John
Boutah; Sandy's five grandchildren; his dog Simba, special friends Sandra Hudson, Steve Easter, and Grant Perkins.
Memorial services will be held in Lyndonville this Tuesday, June 28, 2011,
at 6 p.m. at the Guibord Funeral Home. Mr. John Sleeper will officiate. There will be no visiting hours.
