MAGOON: Richard "Dick" G. , 64, died peacefully, surrounded by family,
Tuesday evening, June 26, 2001, at Northeastern Vermont Regional
Hospital following a lengthy illness. The son of Donald A. and Margaret
(Dixon) Magoon, he was born Jan. 6, 1937, in Newport. Dick was a 1955
graduate of the St. Johnsbury Academy, and married Virginia S. Kumpf,
Oct. 11, 1958. He owned and operated the Shamrock Restaurant in St.
