EASTMAN: Richard "Dick" L. , 69, of Concord, Vt., died Wednesday,
Oct. 9, 2002, at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital. He was
born in St. Johnsbury, Jan. 11, 1933, the son of Earl Eastman and
Kathleen Gallup. A graduate of St. Johnsbury Academy in 1951, Dick
worked in construction, helping build the Northeastern Vermont
Regional Hospital and Fairbanks Scales, among many area projects.
Richard also worked for Passumpsic Street Gulf, Bedard's Mobil, and
several taxi companies in St. Johnsbury. He was a member of the
Moose Lodge, loved his cars and NASCAR auto racing. Survivors
include his mother, Kathleen Perrier of Lyndonville; five daughters,
Janet L. and husband Rodney Lumbra and children Jaimee, Karey,
Libbie, Brandon and Hillary of North Danville; Sherry L. Ward and
children Lisa, Rachel and James Richard of Peacham; Stacia J. and
husband Mark Bristol and children Amanda and Lucas of Kirby;
Renette A. Davis and children Alicia, Danielle and Trevor of North
Concord; and Jennifer L. Eastman and daughter Shania Kathleen of
Concord; and a step-sister, Bette McCann of Boca Raton, Fla. He was
predeceased by his wife, Jeanette (Larocque) Eastman, in 1996; and
his father, Earl Eastman, in 1989. Funeral services will be held
Saturday, Oct. 12, at 2 p.m., at Sayles Funeral Home with Mr. John
Sleeper officiating. Burial will be held at Grove Cemetery in East St.
Johnsbury. Friends are invited to meet the family Friday from 5 to 8
p.m. at Sayles Funeral Home. Contributions in his memory may be
