LaBOUNTY: Paul A. , 63, a long-time resident of St. Johnsbury, died at the Rutland
Regional Hospital, Sunday, Nov. 3, 2002. He was born in St. Johnsbury April 5, 1939,
the son of Delphis and Minerva (Chappell) LaBounty. A graduate of St. Johnsbury
Academy, Class of 1958, he had worked for Fairbanks Scales as a purchasing agent. In
1976-77 he was a coordinator for the Junior Achievement Program in New York. Other
interests included hunting, fishing and all outdoor activities. During his years at the
Academy, he played in the band as a drummer and in 1958 went to Washington, D.C.,
to play in the Presidential Inauguration. Survivors include three daughters, Kim and
husband David Coe of Chandler, Ariz., Sandy and husband Clayton Gilbert of
Wallingford, Vt., and Terri and husband Rene Rodriguez of Holden, Mass.; one brother,
Gene LaBounty of St. Johnsbury; two sisters, Pam Raposa of Hartford, Conn., and Joan
McCahill of Florida; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and a niece. Funeral
services will be held at Sayles Funeral Home, Wednesday, at 2 p.m., with Mr. Raymond
Desilets officiating. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Friends are
invited to meet the family at Sayles Funeral Home, Wednesday, from noon until the time
of the service. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Rutland Area Visiting
