Paul A. Desrochers, 76, of St. Johnsbury died Tuesday evening Jan, 8, 2013
at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H.
He was born Feb. 2, 1936 in Berlin, N.H. the son of Albert and Marie
(Deal) Desrochers. Paul graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy's
class of 1954. While at the Academy he played football and was a
member of the 1952 Vermont State Football Championship team. He
also played basketball and was on the track team.
Following high school he attended Columbia University and later
received his degree in Civil Engineering. He worked as a contract
Civil Engineer throughout New England for many years.
Paul's family and friends were his first priority. He followed his
children's, grandchildren's and great grandchildren's school and
sporting events with great pride. He was an active member of St. John
the Evangelist Catholic Church in St. Johnsbury.
Survivors include four children, Rodger Noyes and wife Ginger of
Lyndonville, Sandra Lepine of St. Johnsbury, Lenore Dwyer and
husband Gary of Lyndonville and Karen Desrochers of Lyndonville;
nine grandchildren, David, Jessica, Bobbie Jo, Billie Jo, Rene, Joey,
Michael, Tadd, and Arlen; 18 great grandchildren; two sisters, Carmen
Repasz of St. Johnsbury and Elaine Pelkey of Lyndonville; several
nieces and nephews; and many special friends.
He was predeceased by his parents; a son, Brian Noyes; and a sister, Anne Dennison.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday Jan. 14, at 11 a.m. at St.
John the Evangelist Church in St. Johnsbury with the Rev. Patrick
Forman celebrant. Spring burial will be in Berlin, N.H.
Friends may call on the family Sunday afternoon from 2-4 at the Sayles Funeral Home.
