HALLIWELL: Muriel S. "Sandy" (Earle) , 65, of Waterford, Vt.,
passed away early Thursday, June 10, 2004, after a relatively
brief illness. She was born in Collingswood, N.J., Jan. 31, 1939,
the daughter of Stanley and Lillian Sylvia (Bisbee) Earle. She
graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy, Class of 1957. She is
survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Christie and Rick Knoll
of Bakersfield, Calif., and her two children, Christopher and Lisa;
her son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Patty Olson of Bakersfield,
Calif., and their three children, Eric Ryan, Heather and Jeremy;
her brother, Russell Earle and his wife Angela of Lenhartsville,
Pa.; her loving niece, Sondra Blanzaco and family of
Wethersfield, Conn.; and a nephew, Russell John Earle of Reno,
Nev. Sandy's love of animals began as a teenager with Morgan
horses. She was an accomplished equestrian and show-woman
of the Morgan horse breed. She later bred and showed champion
Great Danes while living in California. Sandy co-founded the
Volunteers for Animals organization in Tehachapi, Calif. She
moved back to Vermont in 1989 to take care of her mother, Sylvia
Earle. While living here in Vermont, Sandy renewed her interest in
Morgan horses; her Morgan Tristan survives her. She also had
three Dobermans here as pets; her Doberman Tyson survives her
as well. Services will be held Monday, June 14, at 2 p.m., with the
Rev. Jay Sprout officiating. Burial will follow at the Riverside
Cemetery in Lower Waterford. Friends and family are invited to
gather at the funeral home from 1 p.m. to the start of the service.
