Marion Warrell Daines , 77, formerly of East Barnet, Vt., died on Jan. 3, 2010
in Sacramento, Calif. Ms. Daines was born Oct. 25, 1932,
where she lived on the dairy farm with her parents, William and
Mary Warden Warrell. After graduating with the St. Johnsbury
Academy Class of 1950, she then graduated from the University of
Vermont in the initial class of the School of Dental Hygiene. She
moved to California where she worked as a dental hygienist under Dr.
Stephenson of Anaheim for 52 years. She married Robert Daines and
raised their two children, Lori and Tim, in Yorba Linda. After her
divorce and retirement, she continued to be a friendly participant in
her neighborhood. Over the past several years, her health made it
necessary for her to move for care in Sacramento where she could be
near her daughter. Ms. Daines is survived by her daughter, Lori,
son-in-law John Murakami, and her three very special grandchildren,
Brea, 21, Chris, 19 and Rebecca 16. She is also survived by her
sisters, Ruth Warrell MacKay of Virginia Beach, Va., and Alma
Warrell Briggs of Riverside, Calif. In addition to her parents, she was
preceded in death to cancer by her son Tim (1994). Services will take
place on Sunday, Aug. 8, 2010 at 3 p.m. at the Barnet Center Church
Cemetery. Her ashes will be placed there beside her parents. Her
family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be sent to the
Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
