Standish - Marcel "Mike" P. Dutil, 80, of Hi Vu Drive died on September 8,
2011 at the Maine Medical Center in Portland. He was born in St. Johnsbury, Vt.
on April 1, 1931 the son of Jules and Bertha Gosselin Dutil.
He attended St. Gabriel's Parochial School and graduated from St. Johnsbury Trade School in 1950.
He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict
and was stationed in Germany. Mike was a truck driver for most of his working life.
He worked for Roberts Express, the A & P Co., R.S. Brine, Fox and Ginn Inc., Weyerhauser and
Red Star from where he retired in 1994. In recent years, he enjoyed his visits to Tabor's store
in Standish where he and others would go over the local happenings of the day. He will be
missed by all who knew and loved him. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother,
Jules Dutil. Surviving are two sisters, Geraldine Huls of Atlanta, Ga. and Gloria
Comeau of Manchester, N.H. Four daughters, Catherine Spencer of North
Berwick; Patricia Dutil of Acton; Cynthia Pettersen of Limerick; and Laurette
Dutil of Scarborough. Three sons, Thomas Dutil of Hampton, N.H.; Adam
Dutil of Virginia Beach, Va.; and Alan Dutil of Myrtle Beach, S.C. Fifteen
grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and several loving nieces and nephews.
An hour of visitation will be on Wednesday, September 14, from 10 to 11
a.m. immediately followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. at the Watson,
Neal & York Funeral Home, 71 Maple Street, Cornish. Burial will follow at Dow's Corner Cemetery
