LAWRENCE ARTHUR DESORCIE - ZEPHYRHILLS, Fla. - Lawrence
Arthur Desorcie, age 76, passed away peacefully Friday afternoon, Nov.
26, 2010 with his family at his side. Born in Highgate on Sept. 29, 1934, he
was the son of the late Lawrence E. and Ruth (Magnant) Desorcie. He
attended Highgate schools and graduated from St. Johnsbury Trade
School in 1952. He leaves his loving wife, Charlotte (Firkey) Desorcie of
Zephyrhills, Fla., following 56 years of joyful and caring marriage. Larry will
always be remembered as a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He
had a keen interest in history, automobiles and mechanical devices of
every type. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family, television
westerns and touring the U.S. Retiring in 1996, he spent a 31-year career
as a tooling design engineer at IBM's Semiconductor Design and
Manufacturing Center in Essex Junction. He served in the U.S. Army and
U.S. Army Reserves. For many years, he was a volunteer firefighter in
Colchester. Larry leaves his children, James Desorcie and wife, Maureen,
of State College, Pa., Ann Marie Russell and husband, Glen, of Prince
George, Va., and George Desorcie and wife, Caroline, of Westford; his
brother, Robert Desorcie and wife, Patricia, of Apalachin, N.Y.; and
sister-in-law, Beverly Desorcie of Tecumseh, Mich.; six treasured
granddaughters, Alyssa Russell, Felicia, Jessica, Kimberly, Heather and
Piper Desorcie; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his
parents, Larry was predeceased by his brothers, John Desorcie in 1994
and Joseph Desorcie in 1931. Interment and committal will be at Florida
National Cemetery in Bushnell, Fla. Gifts in Larry's memory may be made
to the East Pasco Hospice Care Center of HPH Hospice, 37439 Clinton
Avenue, Dade City, FL 33525.
