GREENE: Kermit R. , 72, of St. Johnsbury, died peacefully at home
Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2003. He was born in St. Johnsbury, May 26, 1931,
the son of Roy and Kathleen (Cox) Greene. A graduate of St.
Johnsbury Trade School, Mr. Greene served in the U.S. Marine Corps
during the Korean Conflict. He worked in construction most of his life
working for area firms including Lawrence Sand and Gravel and
Calco. He was an avid outdoorsman, especially enjoying hunting and
snowmobiling. Kermit thought the world of his family and took great
interest in his grandchildren. On May 22, 1954, he married Gloria
(Langlois) Greene, who predeceased him Feb. 11, 2001. Survivors
include a son, Michael and wife Tina Greene, and their children
Zachary and Kaylee, all of Ryegate; a sister, Dorine Moore of
Winthrop, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews. He was also
predeceased by two brothers, Leon Greene in 1972, and twin brother,
Kenneth Greene in 1996. Friends are invited to meet the family at
Sayles Funeral Home, Thursday, Aug. 21, from 5-8 p.m. A funeral
Mass will be celebrated at St. John the Evangelist Church, Friday, Aug. 22,
at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
