DYER, Katherine Coburn, 76, lovingly known to all as Kay, passed away peacefully with
family by her side Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014 at Florida Hospital
Tampa of postsurgical complications. Born in St. Johnsbury, VT
June 3, 1938, Kay was a graduate of the St. Johnsbury Academy.
She studied at Tufts University in Boston and graduated from the
University of Vermont in Burlington. She worked as a public and
private school teacher, early childhood development specialist,
sales representative, and as her last and best calling, a geriatric care
manager and owner of Dyer Solutions in Apollo Beach, FL.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Barry Dyer; daughter,
Margaret Peg Dyer of Milwaukee, WI; son, Daniel Dan Dyer of
Orlando; brother, David (Patti) Coburn of Lower Waterford, VT;
brother, Andrew (Peggy) Coburn of Hertford, NC; and several
cousins. Two local memorials will be held for Kay, on Tuesday,
Oct. 7, from 4-6 pm at the Sun City Center Chamber of Commerce,
1651 Sun City Center Plaza, Sun City Center; and Saturday, Oct. 11,
at 2 pm at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Sarasota, 3975
