LITTLETON, NH -- Helen Haney, 83, passed away on January 20, 2017, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Helen was born on December 15, 1933, in Gilman, VT, a daughter to Henry & Alice St. Cyr. She was the next to the youngest child with three sisters and one brother. Helen grew up in Gilman, VT where she attended grade school. She then went on to attend high school at Mount Saint Joseph Academy in St. Johnsbury, VT where she graduated in 1952. During the four years of attending the Academy, Helen lived on the property at the Convent. During her high school years she would take the train home on weekends to help out with her family's clothing store business. On November 21, 1956, she married the love of her life, late Glenn E. Haney, Sr. who passed away in 2002. They were married for 46 years. Helen lived her life for her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, homemaker, grandmother and great grandmother. Her life was all about family. For many years, she had a huge vegetable garden and loved to can. At times she would can over 900 jars of food from her garden in one summer. Helen's passion was to cook and bake for her family. Helen was predeceased by her loving step-son, Richard Haney, of Hill, NH. Helen leaves behind her daughter-in-law, Jeanne Haney, of Hill, NH; daughter, Ginger Gallant of Littleton, NH; sons, Bud Haney and wife Gail, of Mexico Beach, FL., Bryan Haney and wife Bibbit, of Littleton, NH; daughter, Lisa Lavoie of Littleton, NH; son Russell Haney and wife Michele, of Bath, NH; as well as 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. SERVICES -- A graveside service is being planned for the Spring of 2017 in the Glenwood Cemetery, Littleton, NH at which time she and her late husband, Glenn E. Haney, Sr., will both be laid to rest together. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to North County Home Health & Hospice Agency, 536 Cottage Street, Littleton, NH 03561. She will be remembered for her warm and caring heart and dedication to her family.
