STIMPSON: Harris "Stimp" William Jr. , 66, of 4228 South Wheelock
Rd., Wheelock, passed away at his residence Sunday, Nov. 3, 2002. He
was born May 28, 1936 in Glover, the son of the late Harris W. and
Gertrude E. (Drew) Stimpson. He graduated from St. Johnsbury Trade
School, Class of 1955. He was a local building contractor for 32 years.
He was a life member of the National Rifle Association, and enjoyed
hunting and fishing. He loved the Lord. He is survived by his wife of
45 years, Linda (Howland) Stimpson of Wheelock, whom he married
Sept. 6, 1957; two sons, William and wife Teresa Stimpson of Bossier
City, La., and James and wife Karen Stimpson of Lyndonville; three
grandsons, Christopher William Stimpson and Matthew William
Stimpson of Bossier City, and Andrew James Stimpson of Lyndonville;
his sister, Rose and husband Douglas Wheeler of Lyndonville; his
mother-in-law, Eva Howland of Lyndonville; his brothers-in-law and
sisters-in-law, Sharon and Jerry Dean of Wilson, N.Y., Robert and
Mary Howland of Lyndonville, Ronald Howland and Denise Doyon of
Lyndonville, and Donald Howland of St. Johnsbury; and by several
aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by
his parents; a sister, Hazel True; and his father-in-law, Herman "Jake"
Howland. There are no calling hours. Funeral services will be held at
the Lyndonville United Methodist Church, Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2002, at
1 p.m., with the Rev. Barbara Dwyer officiating. Burial will be in the
New Wheelock Cemetery in Wheelock. Those who wish may send
contributions in his memory to the Hospice Program, in care of
Caledonia Home Health Care agency, P.O. Box 383, St. Johnsbury, VT 05819.
