Gary L. Sizen died Sunday, April 8, 2007, at the age of 69. Born in St.
Johnsbury, Vt., on Nov. 26, 1937, to Earle N. and Mildred (Hawkins)
Sizen, Gary was a 1955 graduate of St. Johnsbury Academy and was
an Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America. He was a veteran of the
U.S. Marine Corps and Marine Corps Reserve. He was a member of
the American Legion Post 16 in Covington, La., and had been a
resident of Bush, La., for the past seven years. Mr. Sizen is survived
by his beloved wife, Marie Haas Sizen (82322 Five Lakes Road, Bush,
LA 70431); his children, James L. Sizen (Judy) (845 Edgemont St.,
Emmett, ID 83617), Daren E. Sizen (Laura) (545 Oakland Station
Road, St. Albans, VT 05478), Shane G. Sizen (3 Kay's Way Lane,
Cambridge, VT 05444); and his sister, Joan Sizen Drown (Lenwood)
51 Cross Ave., St. Johnsbury, VT 05819. Also surviving him are six
grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and
nephews. Gary was predeceased by his previous wife, Kathryn
Rockwell Sizen; his parents, Earle and Mildred Sizen; his brothers,
Norman Niles Sizen and Cleon Earle Sizen; his sister, Clare Sizen
Daniels; and one granddaughter. Memorial services were held
Wednesday, April 11, in the Chapel of E.J. Fielding Funeral Home in
Covington, La., and was attended by his son from Indiana as well as
his two sons and his sister from Vermont.
