Belvoir NC - Elwin "Al" Smith, 81, passed away on Wednesday,
December 2, 2015 at home surrounded by his family. The
family will receive friends Saturday from 2 to 4pm at Smith
Funeral Service & Crematory.
Al, son of the late Harold and Jennie Smith, was a native of CT.
He and his wife, Sue, ran Broken Wheel Riding Stables in Kirby,
VT. In St. Johnsbury, VT, he was an active member of the St. J
Sno-Blazers and served as Governor of the Loyal Order of
Moose. He worked as a car salesman for over 30 years with
various companies, including Vinton Motors and Crosstown
Motors in Littleton, NH and Dolgin Auto Sales in St. Johnsbury.
In 1994 he moved to Greenville where he sold cars at F & D
Motors and Brinkley Moore Motors. After retiring at age 62, he
worked with Regional Acceptance and NAPA as a driver.
Al is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sue Smith; daughter,
Karen Roy and husband James of Greenville; granddaughters,
Nicole Roy and Brittany Roy and fiancé Michale Gregson, Jr.;
great grandchildren, TaShaya, Ja'Micheal and Hunter; sister-in-
laws, Anne Cushman and P-nut Asher and husband Earl; and
several nieces and nephews.
