MARTINEZ, Ga.- Donald R. Fauteux, age 72, entered into rest at his
residence on Wednesday, February 18, 2004. A native of Boston, Mass.,
he had resided in Augusta since 1966. He was retired from the U.S. Army
and the Veterans Administration Hospital. He was a member of American
Legion Post #205, Voiture 719 of the Forty and Eight, The Veterans of
Foreign Wars Post 3200 holding many offices in the organizations, to
include Past Commander of Jack C. Fortune Post 205 and Past Grande
Chef de Gare of the Forty and Eight of the State of Georgia. He was also a
member of the Green Meadows Country Club. He is survived by his wife ,
Anita Byrd Fauteux; three sons, Mike Fauteux, Leo Fauteux and Joe
Fauteux all of Augusta; two daughters, Denise Thomas of Evans and Cindy
Newsome of Augusta; one stepdaughter, Bobbi Johnson of North Augusta;
two sisters, Lorraine Fauteux of Niantic, Conn. and Ruth Bijolle of
Lyndonville, Vt.; eight grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and four
great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be conducted at 2 p.m.
Monday, February 23, 2004 at Elliott Sons Lumpkin Road Chapel.
Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the American Legion, Jack C.
Fortune Post 205 and are asked to assemble at the funeral home by 1:30
p.m. The family will greet friends at the funeral home immediately following
the services. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Hospice,
2260 Wrightsboro Road, Augusta, 30904.
