Doloris French (Bowman) Dutton of Salem Va June 19, 2015,
being the last day of my earthly estate, wish to convey to my family,
friends, and co-workers and patients my sincere gratitude for touching my life.
I am grateful for life itself, for the opportunities that I have had
and for the stumbling blocks that have expanded my heart and
refined my soul. The Lord has blessed me beyond measure.
I was born in Barre, Vermont, moved to Virginia in 1955, and
fulfilled my childhood dream to be a registered nurse, wife and mother.
I was blessed with choice parents, the late Francis French,
Charles and Evelyn Fuller Bowman; and brother Robert French;
one living brother, Raymond Bowman; and many devoted
relatives, some who have preceded me in the transition to the
Spirit World, and with whom I look forward to being reunited.
I was blessed with a very extraordinary husband of nearly 60
years, William Harry Dutton Sr.; six wonderful children and
their spouses, Daniel and Renee Dutton, Salem, Va., Glenn and
Lisa Dutton, Riverton, Utah, Diana and Jim Gerken, Salem, Va.,
William H. Dutton Jr. and Brenda, Layton, Utah, Della and Noah
McDaniel, Salem, Va., Daffney and Tyson Blais, Salem, Va.; 25
choice grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
I have been an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints (Mormon) since becoming a convert in 1952.
I have a testimony of its teachings, the guidance it has given
me while raising our family, and the love and support received
from its membership as I have served in various auxiliaries
through the years. We believe that families are eternal and I
can move on with peace and joy knowing that I will see my family again.
I have chosen not to have a viewing or service, only a
dedication of my grave in the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens for
family members. Daniel K. Dutton will dedicate the grave.
There will be a memorial service 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2015,
at the Stake Center, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-
day Saints, 6311 Wayburn Drive, Salem, Va., conducted by
President Kevin Bohon. All who would like to attend are welcome.
