Dale E. Daniels, age 79, of Brockton, Mass., died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012,
at Signature Healthcare/Brockton Hospital after a brief illness. He was the
husband of the late Nancy M. (Burke) Daniels. Born and raised in St.
Johnsbury, Vt., the oldest child of James E. and Bertha B. (Cook) Daniels, Dale
had been a resident of Brockton since 1970. He had previously resided in
Brighton for several years. A 1952 graduate of St. Johnsbury Trade
High School, Dale worked at Raytheon his entire career. He began work at the
Waltham plant while still in high school and interrupted his job to serve in the
U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
Dale loved all sports and had been a coach for many years for Brookfield
Little League and Brockton Youth Hockey. He was a collector of sports
cards and enjoyed reading. He was a great story teller and loved spending
time with his family, especially with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his children: Donna M. Stack of Middleboro, Mass., Kevin
D. Daniels of Ridgewood, N.J., and Mark R. Daniels of Brockton; nine
grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; his siblings: Rodney E. Daniels
of St. Johnsbury, Vt.; Nathan J. Daniels of Somers, Conn.; Janet M.
Daniels of Hanover, N.H.; John C. Daniels of St. Johnsbury, and the late James A. Daniels.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont St.
(Rte 123) Brockton, Mass., Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. A funeral service will
be held in the funeral home on Monday at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
