Charles "Chuck" Allan Ely of Rockville, Maryland passed away peacefully on October 17, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Chuck was born on January 7, 1932 in St. Johnsbury, Vermont to Luther and Marion Oliver Ely. Chuck received a BS degree in mathematics from Athens University in Alabama. He was employed by several contracting and government agencies throughout his career as a computer engineer. He also retired from the USAF reserves. Chuck is survived by his wife of 45 years, Lita Jeanne, daughters Janice Pulcini, Dawn Jordan, Pamela Hammond; stepdaughter Joy Lynne Larson; sons-in-law Mickey Pulcini and Joe Hammond; 20 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 23, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 16420 South Westland Drive, Gaithersburg, MD. Contributions in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association or Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Gaithersburg.
