Bonnie Thurston Carpenter , 70, of School Street in St. Johnsbury,
passed away suddenly July 1, 2010, of a stroke suffered late the evening
before. She grew up in Lunenburg, the daughter of Maurice, known as
"Mac," and Emily (Schmidt) Corbin. She is survived by her husband Leslie
"Moe" Carpenter; two of her three children, George William "Bill"Thurston
and Connie Thompson of St. Johnsbury, Vicki Thurston O'Leary and
husband Vince of San Mateo, Calif.; Moe's five sons, Robin Carpenter of
Portland, Maine, Randall Carpenter and wife Nancy of St. Johnsbury, Tracy
Carpenter of Phoenix, Ariz., Timothy Carpenter and wife Gail of
Lyndonville, Eric Carpenter and wife Stacy of Waterford Vt; and 15
grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, which Bonnie and Moe have
together. She was predeceased by a daughter, Tammy Muinos. Visiting
hours will be held at Sayles Funeral Home Monday, July 5, from 2 to 4 p.m.
Visiting hours will conclude with an informal prayer service led by Judy
Kennedy, who was acting NVRH chaplain at the time of Bonnie's sudden
illness and passing. Given that Bonnie worked at NVRH as a longtime
operating room technician, it would be appropriate that any contributions
given in Bonnie's memory be directed to "NVRH Chaplaincy Fund,"
Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital, P.O. Box 905, St. Johnsbury, VT 05819.
