Bob Fleming , of Lyndon, passed away peacefully at home on
Tuesday, July 8, 2008, at the age of 71. He was born in St.
Johnsbury, June 19, 1937, the son of Gordon and Doris (Pratt)
Fleming. He was raised by Gordon and Florence Neil Fleming
who combined the Fleming-Neil families as one. Bob graduation
from St. Johnsbury Academy in 1957. He served in the US Army
from 1959 to 1962. The majority of his working life was spent
operating heavy equipment. Many of his friends called him "Jose."
He is survived by his wife Jennifer (Jones) Fleming; two children
Karen Clouatre and husband Stephen of Portland, Maine, and
Matthew Fleming, cmdr. of the USS Nicholas, and wife Carrie, of
Stafford, Va.; seven grandchildren, Justin, Erik, Patrick, Mitchell,
Nickolaus, Alyson, and Elizabeth; his loving mother Florence
Fleming of St. Johnsbury; six surviving brothers and sisters,
Bernard Neil of Bellows Falls, Bryant Fleming and wife Lyn of
Waterford, James Neil and wife Sue of Claremont, N.H., Muriel
Clark and husband Bob of Barre, Sharon Fleming of Hartford,
Conn., and Brenda Fleming of Florida; sister-in-law Andrea Neil of
West Glover; nieces and nephews; and his dog Sammy. He was
predeceased by his father, Gordon; two brothers David and
Walter Neil, and two infant brothers Lloyd and Bruce Fleming.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, Aug. 22, at 11 a.m., at
the Lyndonville United Methodist Church. The pastor, the Rev.
Barbara Dwyer, will officiate. Contributions in Bob's memory may
