Barbara L. (Kaiser) Moulthrop , 71, of Lyndon, Vt., died peacefully at
her home Tuesday evening June 7, 2005, after a five-year battle with
breast cancer. She was born Feb. 9, 1934, in St. Johnsbury, daughter
of the late Kenneth K. and Bernice E. (Bailey) Kaiser. A graduate of St.
Johnsbury Academy, Class of 1951, Mrs. Moulthrop received her
bachelor of science degree from Atlantic Union College in South
Lancaster, Mass. Mrs. Moulthrop worked as a school teacher for 39
years. She retired from the St. Johnsbury School system after 31
years as a science teacher in the middle school. After retirement, she
worked as a volunteer at Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital in
St. Johnsbury. An active member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church
in St. Johnsbury, Mrs. Moulthrop was the oldest charter member
there. She served as the church treasurer for more than 30 years, as
well as holding many other offices throughout the years. Mrs.
Moulthrop enjoyed traveling, reading, crossword puzzles, computers,
and feeding and watching the wild birds in her back yard, as well as
the many other animals that happened by. Survivors include a
brother, Kenneth K. Kaiser and his wife Iris of Connecticut; three
sisters, Louise Perry of Michigan, Shirley Kalmansson of Leominster,
Mass., and Eldora Kaiser of Clinton, Mass.; and many nieces and
nephews. She was predeceased by a brother and his wife, Linwood
and Joyce Kaiser; and two brothers-in-law, Carrol Perry and Birgir
Kalmansson. Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 12, at 11 a.m.,
at the Seventh-day Adventist Church on Southard Street in St.
Johnsbury, with pastor Jack Baker officiating. Burial will follow in the
family lot at River Bank Cemetery in Stowe, Vt. Friends may meet
with the family Saturday evening from 6-8 at the Guibord Funeral
Home. In lieu of flowers, donations made in Barbara Moulthrop's
