Albert Russell Mann , 75, a resident of Oliver Springs, Tenn., died
Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2007, at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. Mr.
Mann was born March 7, 1932, in St. Johnsbury, Vt., moving to Oliver
Springs in 1961. He was a member of the Oliver Springs United Methodist
Church and the Oliver Springs Omega Masonic Lodge No. 536 F&AM. He
was also a former Oak Ridge Boy Scouts of America scout master. He was
a U.S. Navy veteran who served his country in the Korean War. While in
the Navy, he was a member of the U.S. Navy Color Guard which presented
the colors at Queen Elizabeth's inauguration. In addition, he also served in
the U.S. Navy Reserve. He was the former commander of the Oliver
Springs American Legion and served as the Roane County Veterans field
service officer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell John
Mann and Isabelle Perkins Mann. Mr. Mann is survived by his wife of 50
years, Mary Kathryn Watson Mann of Oliver Springs; sons Michael Russell
Mann and wife Joni of Kingston, John Allen Mann and wife Neita of Clinton
and Harold Francis Mann and wife Stephanie of Powell; grandchildren
Bearritt Mann, Angela Cross and husband Steven, Luke Dustin Mann,
Christopher Johns and Kimberlin Mann; his sister, Marion Shirlock and
husband George of Barre, Vt.; and his brother, Gilbert Mann of St.
Johnsbury. Services were held Oct. 31, 2007, at Oak Ridge Memorial Park
with full military colors.
