Alban "Tiny" Finn of High Street in Concord, Vt. passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013 at the age of 79. He was born in St. Johnsbury, Vt. on March 24, 1934, the son John and Delia (Roy) Finn. He attended St. Johnsbury graded schools and the St. Johnsbury Trade School where he played football. He joined the Vermont National Guard and served from 1954 to 1960. Alban enjoyed old western movies, cooking, home projects and carpentry work, watching pro football, and visiting museums. He was a member of the Concord Historical Society. Alban worked for the Caron Co. out of Portland, Maine from 1956 to 1991. He had a route, mostly in the Northeast Kingdom and northern New Hampshire, stocking health and beauty products for small Mom and Pop stores. Before going to work for the Caron Co., Alban parlayed his love of cooking and became a chef at the former Aime's Restaurant. He also had worked at the Amidon Cleaners on Eastern Avenue in St. Johnsbury. He was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth Stanley Finn, a son Dwayne, and a sister Doris Ely. He is survived by one of his two sons Michael of both Concord and Weare, N.H.; a sister Maureen Robillard of St. Johnsbury; brother John 'Ernie' Finn of Orange City, Fla., brother Jack Finn of Alexandria, La.; nieces and nephews; his wife's two brothers George Stanley of Victory, John Stanley and his wife Arlene of Concord. Graveside services will be held in Concord this Saturday, Sept. 14 at 11 a.m. at the Concord Village Cemetery with Fr. Luke Austin officiating. There will be no visiting hours.
