WILMA (MILES) KIMBALL BURLINGTON/BARNET - Wilma Kimball, wife
of Harold Kimball and longtime owner of the Kimball and Miles Store in
Barnet, passed away Friday evening, March 5, 2010 at the Birchwood
Terrace Healthcare in Burlington surrounded by her loving family. She was
85. She was born in Williston, Vt. on June 13, 1924, one of three daughters
born to Charles and Irene (Austin) Miles. She was proud to have graduated
from St. Johnsbury Academy and lived in The Brantview Dorm. On July 23,
1943 she and Harold Kimball were united in marriage. In 1945 Wilma and
Harold bought Rowe Brothers Store in Barnet Village in partnership with
Wilma's parents; hence Kimball and Miles Store. They operated the store
until 1981 and were part of the fabric of the Barnet community. Wilma was
secretary/treasurer of the Pleasant View Cemetery for many years and was
longtime treasurer of the Barnet Congregational Church. The Kimballs
moved from Barnet in 1990 to sunny Tucson, spending summers at their
cottage on beautiful Lake Seymour. In 2005 they moved permanently to
Burlington. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Harold Kimball of
Burlington (72 Heineberg Rd., Apt. #327, 05408); three daughters: Brenda
Frazer and husband Mark of Burlington, Patsy Leavitt and husband
Thomas of Burlington, Jill Gaffney and fiance Douglas Moore of Tucson,
Ariz.; eight grandchildren: Kim (husband Brendan) and Kate; Jared, Brock,
and Blake; Cory, Cody, and Riley; one greatgranddaughter Lily; one sister
Charlotte Dunbar of Barnet; nieces, nephews and their families, and a few
cousins. She was predeceased by a sister, Lorraine Rutledge and her
husband Karl, and a brother-in-law Dale Dunbar. Memorial services will be
held this Thursday, March 11, 2010 at 2 p.m. at the Barnet Congregational
Church. The pastor Sally Chamberlin will officiate. Memorial contributions

Barre Vt. 05641; or to Birchwood Terrace Healthcare, 43 Starr Farm Rd.,
Burlington Vt. 05408. Her family would like to thank all the personnel at
Birchwood for the wonderful care they gave Wilma.
