McGINNIS: Ronald F. , 77, beloved husband of Jeanne Rice McGinnis, of
Milford, Conn., died Monday, June 7, 2004, in Hospital of St. Raphael, New
Haven, Conn. Son of the late Ellery and Mamie Guyer M. McGinnis, he was
born Dec. 31, 1926 in St. Johnsbury on the town farm and was a resident
of Milford for 53 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, where
served in the 279th Station Hospital as a surgical technician and received
the Army of Occupation medal as well as the World War II Victory Medal.
Ron was a machinist/foreman at Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford, Conn., for 36
years. He was a member of the American Legion, the VFW Post 7788, and
the Sikorsky Foreman Club. He was an avid Yankees fan and enjoyed
bowling and skiing. In addition to his wife, he leaves three children,
Deborah McLay and her husband Harry of Keene, N.H., Paul McGinnis and
his wife Judy of Oxford, Conn., and Bryan McGinnis and his wife Debbie of
North Branford, Conn.; seven grandchildren, Ronald McLay, Daniel,
Courtney, Tim and Katie McGinnis, and Cody and Bailey McGinnis; a
brother, Richard "Butch" McGinnis and his wife Beulah of St. Johnsbury; a
sister, Lorraine Robinson and her husband Sherwood of Graniteville, Vt.;
and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Ellery
McGinnis Jr.; and two sisters, Doris Danforth Stowell and Phebe Audette.
Special thanks to the nursing staff at St. Raphael for all the care they
provided during his illness. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, June
9, at 5:30 p.m., in the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St. on the
Green, Milford. Committal will be private. Friends may call on Wednesday
from 3-5:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American
