Roland Richard Heon, 86, died on Sunday, December 20, 2015
at Roman Eagle Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. Born
April 28, 1929, in St. Johnsbury, Vermont, he was the son of
Albert J. Heon and Rosilda Bedard Heon. He was a resident of
Danville, VA since 1980, and retired in 1991 as manager/owner
of Value City Department Store. He was a member of Sacred
Heart Catholic Church, The Knights of Columbus, Danville
Rotary Club, and the Salvation Army Advisory Board. He also
served on the Board of Directors of the Danville Chamber of
Commerce. He is survived by two nephews, Jon P. Heon, of
Newport, RI, and David M. Heon, of Boca Raton, FL; and one
niece, Denise R. Heon, of Dayton, FL.A memorial Mass of
Resurrection will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at
11:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev.
Father Jonathan Goertz officiating. Interment of cremated
remains at a Catholic Committal Service in the family plot will
follow at a later date in Calvary Cemetery, St. Johnsbury, VT.
