STANTON: Rodney S. , 78, of 179 Stanton Road, North Monroe,
N.H., died Nov. 8, 2004, at St. Johnsbury, Vt., Health and Rehab
Center following an extended illness. He was born in St.
Johnsbury, April 19, 1926; graduated from St. Johnsbury
Academy, Class of 1944; served in the U.S. Navy during World
War II; and graduated from the University of Vermont in 1950. Mr.
Stanton owned and operated North Country Farms in Monroe
until his retirement in the 1980s. He was a member of the North
Monroe United Methodist Church where he served as a trustee;
he also had served as a member of the Monroe Consolidated
School Board and served as its chairman several times. Upon
retirement, Mr. Stanton enjoyed wintering in the Lakes Region of
Florida until last year. He also enjoyed skiing and playing tennis.
He married Mary W. Ward on May 18, 1952. Survivors include his
wife of 52 years, Mary W. Stanton, of North Monroe; a daughter,
Deborah Regis and her husband Robert of North Monroe; a son,
Peter G. Stanton and his wife Cynthia of Monroe; nine
grandchildren, Mark Regis, Jillian Regis, Paul Regis, Craig Regis,
Amanda Regis, Brittany Regis, Michael Stanton, Nicholas Stanton
and Kevin Stanton. There will be no calling hours. A memorial
service is being planned for the spring of 2005, and will be held at
the North Monroe United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the
North Monroe Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to
the Bell Tower Fund for the North Monroe United Methodist
